When a coin identifier is the right tool

Use a photo identifier when you cannot already name the country or type — mixed jars, inherited lots, travel change. If you already know it is a common circulating coin in your own currency, a catalogue or dealer list may be faster. A photo still helps when you want the KM number or a condition band without typing legends by hand.
